The Angus Barrett Saddlery Girth Point is designed to fit on stock saddles, fender saddles and western saddles.
We recommend fitting the Girth Point on the off side of your horse, with the Angus Barrett Latigo on the near side.
Our Girth Points have 6 holes for adjustment.
The Angus Barrett Saddlery Girth Points are made from first grade, chrome tanned leather chosen specifically for its strength and lack of stretch. This leather can be quite rigid and difficult to handle, so to ameliorate this, Angus has recently modified the design by reducing the width by 2.5mm on each side, making the girth points 35mm wide. This has made the points easier to handle and adjust, particularly whilst the leather is still new, without compromising on their durability or strength.
To further assist with making the girth points easier to handle, we now oil them with neatsfoot oil only, and no wax. Our girth points are also supplied with a bonus bag of talcum powder, to give you a little extra assistance when using and adjusting the girth points whilst they are still new.
We sew around each hole for extra strength and reinforcement, preventing the leather from tearing at the hole when under pressure.
Before the Girth Points leave the workshop, they are hand finished by Angus and his team with a treatment that is designed to specifically enhance and protect that product. We work to ensure that all Angus Barrett Saddlery products are ready for work or show.
The Angus Barrett Saddlery Girth Point is made from a first grade chrome leather that has been oiled and is ready for you to use. With use, if the belt becomes dry, we recommend using a surface leather dressing, like the Angus Barrett Leather Dressing, to condition it.
We recommend that you do not use any oil to care for your Angus Barrett leather product.
If the Girth Point requires cleaning, simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Please note that most leather products will darken with age, use and after dressing.
If your leather product needs to be stored in a bag, we recommend that you use a breathable bag, such as a canvas bag, not a PVC bag.
One size fits all.
