Latigo

The Angus Barrett Saddlery Latigo is designed to fit on stock saddles, fender saddles and western saddles.

We recommend fitting them on to the near side of your horse, with the Angus Barrett Saddlery Girth Points on the offside.  

Our Latigos have 13 holes for adjustment.

Maker's Notes

The Angus Barrett Saddlery Latigo is made from first grade, chrome tanned leather chosen specifically for its strength and lack of stretch. 

This leather can be quite rigid and difficult to handle, so to ameliorate this, Angus has recently modified the design by reducing the width by 2.5mm on each side, making the girth points 35mm wide.

This has made the points easier to handle and adjust, particularly whilst the leather is still new, without compromising on their durability or strength.

Care

Before the Latigos leave the workshop, they are hand finished with a treatment that is designed to specifically enhance and protect that product. We work to ensure that all Angus Barrett Saddlery products are ready for work or show.

The Angus Barrett Saddlery Latigo is made from a first grade chrome leather that has been oiled and is ready for you to use. With use, if the belt becomes dry, we recommend using a surface leather dressing, like the Angus Barrett Saddlery Leather Dressing, to condition it.

We recommend that you do not use any oil to care for your Angus Barrett leather product.

Cleaning

If the Latigo requires cleaning, simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Please note that most leather products will darken with age, use and after dressing.

If your leather product needs to be stored in a bag, we recommend that you use a breathable bag, such as a canvas bag, not a PVC bag.
