DESCRIPTION

  • Angus Barrett Saddlery Split Reins are made from first-grade harness leather and the hides used are hand selected by Angus for their natural weight. Some are then split to assist in creating a special, weighted feel. 
  • The weight is concentrated around the bit and the tail of the rein, while the centre of the rein, where it is held, is thinned to create an easy, soft hold.

SIZING

Our Split Reins are 16mm or 5/8" wide and are available in a Light, Medium or Heavy weight. Your choice in length of 6ft, 7ft or 8ft.

CARE

Before the reins leave the workshop, they are hand finished with a treatment that is designed to specifically enhance and protect the product.

With use, if the Split Reins become dry, we recommend using a surface leather dressing, like the Angus Barrett Leather Dressing, to condition it. We recommend that you do not use any oil to care for your Angus Barrett leather product.

If the Split Reins require cleaning, simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth. Please note that most leather products will darken with age, use and after dressing.
