- These reins are awsome! The cotton yarn was woven for me in Melbourne until last month (October 2025) when the company closed. another Aussie manufaturing business turning the lights off. Once these reins are sold out there will be no more. I dont know another cotton weaver in Australia. - AB
- These Soft Cotton Reins feature a buckle at the bit to give them weight and have a heavy leather sewn into the cotton webbing at the tail to give them weight at the split.
- The cotton used in these reins is 100% Australian grown. We also have the tubular webbing woven in Australia, made specifically for us.
- The Soft Cotton Split Reins are wider than our leather reins with much more rein to grip onto.

I love the leather ends and the weight of the reins. I was a little disappointed that the end of the cotton wasn’t sealed before the leather end was added. I had already oiled when I saw this so can’t send back and hope it doesn’t frey with use

There is no need to be disappointed that the cotton is not sealed because it actually is. We sew all the ends of the cotton braid before we cut them into lengths. This is done so that it will not fray. The stitch holding the ends together is under the leather. The little white ends are not sealed like you would with a synthetic product because the cotton does not melt and bond with heat as does synthetic fibers.
There is also no need to oil the leather parts as you have done. All our leather is run through a specific oil and wax blend that we make here before we sew the leather ends onto the cotton. In fact, I would prefer that none of our leather be oiled again once leaving the workshop. It very easy over oil leather and weaken it in the process. We make and supply a leather dressing that is a creamy/wax blend and that is what we use post workshop oiling.

Lovely soft cotton reins. Great for a sweaty neck. Measure less than 6 foot but as stated before I bought them, they will stretch with time. Good width and love the weighted ends. Much nicer in the hand than silver rope reins.
