Maker's Notes

These beautiful hand-crafted knives feature three stainless steel blades, and a unique stag handle. As the knives are hand crafted, and made from genuine stag, the handle on each knife will be slightly different, making every knife unique and individual.

These genuine stag handles (or “scales” as they are known) are made from deer antlers. This material is very popular to collectors because of its beauty, durability, and the fact that no two handles look exactly alike.

The blades are made of German stainless steel 1.4034. This steel is historically used for the manufacturing of knives and blades in Solingen.

The advantages of this steel include that it has a good compromise between flexibility and cutting performance. It is easy to sharpen and polish and requires little maintenance. It is also tasteless when cutting food.

A Robert Klaas knife is a beautiful, timeless gift, but also a very practical long lasting tool. Like our own Angus Barrett products, this knife is designed to work and made to last, so it is also covered by our guarantee.

Love my knife, even after a flood!

Let me tell you a story…

I purchased the Ringer belt with knife pouch and purchased the Robert Klass knife with stag handle to accompany it. (Also purchased a Brunett belt).

Well, we have just been hit with the worst flood on record for my area and I thought the belts and knife were high and dry but this was not the case. They went under water for at least 24hrs and I couldn’t get to them for at least four days. The belts have leached a little bit of their stain/protectant and the genuine stag handle took on a different darker colour. However, the blades do not have a single stain on them anywhere and the knife still performs flawlessly. Would I buy another one? In a heartbeat. Great knife, great belts (will need some leather dressing), A1 quality.
